I would be interested to hear how people have used the ACE information within church/congregation settings. I will be providing training to a representatives from several congregations in a rural setting and would be interested in any stories or examples of conversations that have taken place and where it might have led.

Hi, Rick: Two good contacts are @Dave Lockridge and @Chaplain Chris Haughee. Chris has done many posts -- just go to his profile page and look through his content. Here's a story about Dave Lockridge from a few years back -- https://acestoohigh.com/2012/0...of-childhood-trauma/
And check out ACEs in the Faith-Based Community for more contacts.
Rick... I'd be happy to send you a copy of my curriculum for training churches. Or, just chat on the phone some time. My advocacy ministry is mostly to rural congregations being in Montana!
Chaplain Haughee - I would LOVE to see your curriculum for training churches. I am a facilitator for a few recovery-centered groups at my church, and we are doing some needs assessment and determining what "classes" to offer in the coming year. Thank you! Christi Elkins
Christi... here's a post from earlier in the year about the curriculum:

My agency (domestic violence) is partnering with the Samaritan Safe Church program in Lancaster, PA. We are going to host a "coffee and conversation" with local pastors to discuss how our new partnership might look for them. SSC focuses on child abuse prevention within churches and we are focusing on trauma-informed care. Not entirely sure yet how it will shake down exactly, but we should have a clearer picture in the new year. Here is info on SSC:
May lay persons sit in and listen to the conversation ?
Hi Daun,
I suppose you could, but this is happening in Lebanon County with Lebanon folks for Lebanon folks. So I don't know if there would be a lot of benefit in driving out from Philly. But I don't think I'm in a position where I can accurately judge that. If you want to discuss further, please contact me directly at dvipec@dviolc.org. Thanks!
