What is your interest in PACEs and resilience science?
My brothers and I lost our mother to suicide. Our father handed us to the state of WI. We moved through 5 foster families until one of my brothers (nearly 6) and I (41/2) were legally adopted by one family. Eight years later, they returned that brother to the state. Sadly, both brothers eventually died by suicide. I stayed with the adopted family until I could leave for college and eventually graduate school. I have worked with children and their families in my profession for nearly 33 years. I have been married for over 45 years and have two adult sons. I would like to be able to contribute in some way (writing? Speaking?) to children who have endured hardship and chaos in their developing years. And yes, I have been in therapy - until the last year - for much of my adult life!
If you're part of a community-based PACEs initiative, which one?
I am not currently part of a community based PACEs initiative.
