What is it you do for a living? (Parenting, volunteering, CEO of social service organization, etc.)
Director of Project and Change Management. I also have a Health Sciences degree and help non-profits by creating health outreach materials.
What organization(s) do you volunteer or work for?
The American Lung Association, Dress for Success, Habitat for Humanity, and Micromentors
What is your interest in PACEs and resilience science?
I am very passionate about ACEs. It's deeply impacted my life. I scored an 8/10 and worked very hard to have a normal and successful life despite my abuse, trauma and lack of support system. Finding ACEs existed was a huge help to me when I first found the study knowing that the abuse from my childhood impacted me today and how, where and why it did. It also showed me how resilient I am since I haven't experienced many of the bad habits most high scoring ACEr's do. In fact it motivated me to start a blog about how to build up resiliency to help others overcome their bad childhood traumas to be better adults and parents.
If you're part of a community-based PACEs initiative, which one?
No, sadly. I have looked and looked and cannot find any in my area. I'd like to start a chapter if there isn't one. I am deeply interested in helping this organization if I can.
