What is your interest in PACEs and resilience science?
I am a San Diego-based writer and editor who came across Vincent Felitti's ACE study while researching a book on CHILD ABUSE. I was captivated by this important research! Having grown up in a troubled home, I've seen firsthand what happens when children are not protected from abuse, neglect, and other forms of trauma: Over the years, my siblings have struggled with depression, mental illness, and addiction. Most tragically, one of my brothers committed suicide at a young age. I feel it is crucial to protect children from the ACEs that lead to these heartbreaking outcomes.
I look forward to learning more about ACEs prevention and intervention and becoming part of the movement to spread awareness about this vitally important topic. As I learn more, I plan to write articles and perhaps a book on the topic, and I would love to participate in any ACEs-related activities, as a volunteer or in any other capacity. Thank you!
