What is your interest in PACEs and resilience science?
In my work capacity I consult to agencies and staff at DDS with regard to adults with Intellectual and Neuro-developmental Disabilities. I also coordinate a Trauma-informed Committee that crosses over to community based establishments. As part of my work, I have been using speaking opportunities to discuss the impact of trauma, abuse and mistreatment on people IDD. ACEs ties into that conversation in meaningful and direct ways. Implications for the health, mental health and emotional quality of life are important discussion points. ACEs helps frame that narrative.
