What is it you do for a living? (Parenting, volunteering, CEO of social service organization, etc.)

I am retired as a full-time volunteer passionate about doing what I can to make my area trauma-informed. I am a disability rights activist who serves persons with non-apparent disabilities, especially those impacted by homelessness.

What organization(s) do you volunteer or work for?

RER - Racial Equity and Reconciliation Workgroup of the Power of We Consortium in Ingham County Michigan. ALPACT - Allies and Leaders for Police and Community Trust. This is a group of representatives from 8 local law enforcement agencies and community organizations. Samaritas - approved as a host family for a refugee aging out of foster care. I attend events at three different faith-based organizations.

What is your interest in PACEs and resilience science?

Since I have attended resilience trainings (Resilience movie plus facilitated conversation led by ACE Master Trainers) and done extensive independent research on the CDC and SAMHSA websites, I want to become a Community Champion and help other colleagues become authorized to spread the word in the Capital Area.

If you're part of a community-based PACEs initiative, which one?

The Michigan ACE Initiative. I attended the recent sold-out state conference.
