What is your interest in PACEs and resilience science?

My experience as a child experiencing the impact of ACE's with a focus on recovery/resilience with education and support from many teachers and other along the way has influenced my teaching. Specifically, how can teacher's in higher education use trauma informed teaching approaches in supporting undergraduate students to be successful? Over the past seven years many students' have shared their personal traumas in the context of social welfare topics. Since the pandemic I have included a module on resilience and mental health. There appears to be a connection between childhood trauma, childhood and adolescent educational experiences, and adult learner undergraduate course completion. How can we support these adult learners to recognize their unique strengths/abilities to be successful in the virtual classroom?

If you're part of a community-based PACEs initiative, which one?

Not a member of a community-based ACE's initiative at this time.
