What is it you do for a living? (Parenting, volunteering, CEO of social service organization, etc.)

Staff Training/ Take at risk young adults into my home

What organization(s) do you volunteer or work for?

St. Louis Arc who supports people with disabilities/ young adults on transition/ aging. I also partner with Bridges CSS snd Benchmark

What is your interest in PACEs and resilience science?

So many of the people we support have high ACEs scores. I teach Mandt, CPR and First Aid, and New Employee Orientation. I teach about Abuse/ Neglect and ACEs. Many new staff have experienced abuse and neglect as well, and need support. Four years ago, my son asked me to take in a homeless classmate. Since then I have had five young adults in my home. Two with ACEs scores of six, and two with scores of four. Most have felt lost when they lived past 18, they didn't expect to, and don't know how to move forward. I have learned so much!

If you're part of a community-based PACEs initiative, which one?

No
