What organization(s) do you volunteer or work for?
Finn Partners; I also serve as a visiting professor at various colleges/universities; was Artist-in-Residence at Molly Stark Elementary School (VT) and continue to write and illustrate children's (and adult) books. I am a continuing education instructor at Rutgers School of Social Work. I serve on Rutgers GSE Advisory Group on MSI and as a mentor in their aspiring leaders program. I have taught at Rocky Neck Art Colony and participate in teacher training programs across the nation.
What is your interest in PACEs and resilience science?
I wrote a book called Breakaway Learners (Columbia TCPress) that address how at risk students can succeed in education. I have a high ACE score too. I have a sequel book titled Trauma Doesn't Stop at the School Door: Strategies and Solutions for Educators PreK--College, released in 2020. It deals with ACES, PCES, PAES among many other topics including micro and macro strategies for creating trauma-responsive schools/colleges. My newest adult co-authored book (creating a trilogy) is published by Teachers College Press and emerging in Sept. 2024 and is titled: Mending Education.
