What is your interest in PACEs and resilience science?
Understanding ACE concepts is the key to understanding the connections among physical, emotional, social and cognitive health. They provide an understanding of toxic stress, the neural and hormonal mechanisms of health and the primary importance of safe secure and loving attachments among family members and other caregivers as early as possible in a human being's life.
I strongly believe in interdisciplinary practice, especially among mental health and physical health providers plus educators and other social service professionals and parents beginning in the prenatal to three stage of development.
I am also a founding member of Resilient Sacramento and serve with the Steering Group. This is an interdisciplinary group that meets monthly on the UC Davis Medical Center Campus that advocates for ACES Science, becoming trauma informed and resilience building in our personal lives, with our families and in our work and communities.
