What is your interest in PACEs and resilience science?
My interest in the ACE concept stems from my own experiences with childhood trauma, how I became "stuck" in my old story and how to empower others to use their "stories" to move them forward - not hold them back. My work as a public health nurse has connected me with too many women whose lives are "stuck" in their past experiences. My personal relationships also have this same component. Childhood trauma's are non-discriminatory and I have embarked on a project, Voices that Matter, that films women discussing issues that are all too often buried deep. We have Conversation that Matters. Women who share become empowered through awareness - those who listen feel less alone in their own story.
